The Sanders Theater at Harvard

If you are looking for a timeless, classical musical performance, look no further than the Sanders Theater. You can catch performances anywhere from the grand scale of an entire orchestra down to the intimate and expansive experience of a talented soloist. Be sure to check the calendar well ahead of time, as you'll need a ticket to enter, and they tend to sell out fast. The theater is operated by Harvard University, and its schedule plus an online portal to buy tickets can be found at the Harvard University online box office

Toad

 The owners call it a "one-of-a-kind find, the quintessential neighborhood bar", and they may be onto something. Open Wednesday through Saturday, you can expect top-notch live music every night. Not to mention their full bar, with all kinds of local brews on tap, and all sorts of mixed drinks.  Toad puts their show calendar online so that you can see what bands are scheduled to play the next time you are looking to take a night out.

Club Passim

If you are looking for somewhere to listen to live music that lands in between the opera halls and the downtown bars, be sure to check out Club Passim. A non-profit organization, they are one of the very few "listening rooms" left in the Greater Boston area. While they focus on a folk aesthetic, they put on shows that encompass a broad range of musical genres. Anywhere from folk to jazz, rock to old-timey blues, they all sound fantastic at Club Passim.  Check out Club Passim's calendar and pick a date to swing by and enjoy the show.
