There are times when Italian comfort food hits the spot in a way that little else can. Luckily, it's not hard to find some great local Italian restaurants offering the to-go pasta of your choice near our Cambridge apartments.
We've put together a list of some of our favorites the next time you want some authentic Italian food.
Located between Harvard and Porter Squares, Giulia offers its full dinner menu for takeout. Get your meal off to a delicious start with their prosciutto and pear appetizer. Scallops with turnip and lentils make for a great second course. Round out your meal with some specialty rice pudding or carrot cake. Takeout is available at half-hour intervals from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM and must be ordered ahead of time.
Carlo's has been serving up Italian fare in the Boston/Cambridge area since the 1970s. The restaurant has garnered rave reviews, with Phantom Gourmet referring to it as a "hidden jewel." Located in nearby Allston, Carlo's prides itself on its legacy of family ownership. The restaurant offers both lunch and dinner menus. For lunch, choose from sandwiches, pasta dishes, or other special entrées. For dinner, in addition to classics such as tortellini and gnocchi, a popular house specialty option is the salmon stuffed with spinach and fontina cheese.
For a more informal meal, you can't go wrong with Pinocchio's Pizza and Subs, centrally located in Harvard Square. After all, it's been keeping residents of Cambridge satisfied for over fifty years. Don't just take our word for it, though. Eater.com awarded the restaurant first runner-up in its "Best Boston Pizza" poll.
If you feel like enjoying your meal in the sun and fresh air, take it to a nearby park. The beautiful views available in the Cambridge area will add some cheer to your meal. Luxe at Alewife also strives to make your living experience pleasurable. If you'd like to learn more about how, feel free to contact us anytime. We'd love to show you around.
